Duane 'Keffe D’ Davis, the only person charged in Las Vegas killing of Tupac Shakur, maintains his innocence in first post-arrest interview since his September 2023 arrest.
The 61-year-old former member, who was also questioned in the 1997 East Coast murder of Shakur, Biggie Smalls, spoke to ABC News from the Clark County Detention Center, insisting „I am innocent.”
Authorities say Davis was the mastermind behind Shakur’s Sept. 7, 1996, murder near the Las Vegas tracks after a boxing event. Death Row Records CEO Marion „Sugi” Knight was driving the Harlem-born West Coast rapper at the time of the shooting. Tupac died the following week. He was 25.

„They have nothing. And they know they have nothing. They can’t even put me here. They have no gun, no car, no keffe d, nothing. „
According to Davis, „nothing” includes his memoir „Compton Street Legend,” in which he points out his alleged role in the success.
“I just gave (your co-author) details of my life,” said Davis, who says he never read the book, much less wrote it. “And he went and did his own little investigation and wrote the book himself.”
Davis first told authorities in 2008 that he allegedly participated in Shakur’s killing. He shared the information as part of a “bid agreement.meaning the information could not be processed — with the Los Angeles task force that launched a sting operation to obtain information about the death of the Notorious Great

He once again detailed his alleged role in the 2018 docs and “Compton Street Legends.
which Davis claims he did for money and to prevent others from having to fulfill their time.
„I did everything (authorities) asked me to do. Make new friends. Stop selling drugs. I stopped all that,” said Davis, who is scheduled to be tried early next year. „I should have been out there enjoying my Twilight at one of my grandsons’ and grandsons’ F-king games. Enjoying life with my kids.”
In January of this year, a Nevada judge confirmed the murder charge against Davis.
